A walk to remember through the Gothic Quarter
The Barrio Gótico (Gothic quarter) in the old town, is like a different world in the heart of Barcelona, and an endless source of places to discover. You will fall in love with its narrow streets, its small hidden squares with great stories behind and the surprises that you can find along the way, such as the well-known "kiss of freedom" mural by the photographer Joan Fontcuberta in the Plaza de Isidre Nonell. And for those who never get tired of walking, are daring and don't feel cold easily, a stroll along the beach of Barceloneta in winter can also be very romantic.

Barcelona has many points from which to watch amazing and memorable sunsets, but if we have to choose, the sunsets from the Jardines de Miramar in Montjuïc are our favourites. For the plan to be perfect, it is best to go up the hill with the Aeri del Port cable car that will take you from Barceloneta to the gardens. Once there, you can sit on the terrace of the Hotel Miramar and enjoy a drink while watching the sunset. In our opinion, the ideal situation for an unforgettable proposal.
The sweetest thing
Barcelona has what for many is the closest thing to heaven on earth: the Museu de la Xocolata (chocolate museum); and nothing says "be my Valentine" as chocolates. You can simply visit the museum, or you can also participate in any of the workshops that are organized in the same facilities. From learning how to make chocolate lollipops, to pairing wine and cocoa, we are sure that you will find your ideal "Xocoexperience", which will make your romantic getaway perfectly delicious.
More than flowers
Although chocolate is the number one of every Valentine's Day, flowers follow closely. As you already know, at Hotel Miramar we like flowers, but what we really love are the floral arrangements by Mitre & Mandri Flors in Barcelona. Their bouquets and the way they present all their floral arrangements would make anyone fall in love, something very much related with the celebration of Valentine's Day. And if you also want to see flowers on its natural habitat, there is nothing more romantic than visiting the Botanical Garden located in Montjuïc, about 20 minutes walk from Hotel Miramar Barcelona. Another very good option is to walk through the park of the Laberint d'Horta, a beautiful place with a neoclassical touch in which to get lost for a while.
