Montjuïc

is the best viewpoint from which to witness the changes that Barcelona has experienced over the decades. From here, you can contemplate the buildings, monuments and all the corners that have shaped the city.

Blending in with the Montjuïc mountain and built on the foundations of an old palace, the hotel has become one of the few places of reference that allows you to observe the history of the last 100 years.

On the basis of an old restaurant, years later and on the occasion of the International Exhibition of 1929, it was converted into a small palace; a marvellous building surrounded by one of the most beautiful gardens in the world. It was the centre of meetings, celebrations, discussions of the high aristocracy and political figures of the time, but of course also of declarations of love for the romanticism of the enclave.

Later, in 1959, it became the headquarters of the TVE (Spanish TV channel) studios in Barcelona for almost 25 years.

The hotel, which maintains the balance between history and modernity, between bustle and isolation, between luxury and comfort, was designed and built between 2001 and 2006 by Óscar Tusquets, who managed to reinterpret the location and the history.

Tusquets defines himself as an architect by training, a designer by adaptation, a painter by vocation and a writer by desire to win friends.
