Built in 1929 for the International Exhibition, the former palace designed by Ramon Raventós became one of Montjuïc's most iconic landmarks. Surrounded by the gardens conceived by Jean-Claude Nicolas Forestier and with privileged views over the city and the Mediterranean, it was for decades the setting for meetings, celebrations, and moments that marked Barcelona's social life.
Over time, the building hosted the studios of Televisión Española in Catalonia, becoming one of the places from which much of the country's recent history was broadcast. Decades later, an ambitious renovation allowed Miramar to regain its original vocation: to once again become one of Barcelona's great retreats.
