The 1929 Universal Exposition transformed Barcelona, leaving behind icons that still define the city’s landscape today. Places such as Plaça Espanya, the National Art Museum of Catalonia, and Poble Espanyol evoke that era when Barcelona was consolidating itself as a modern metropolis. Among these great emblems, on the eastern slope of Montjuïc, stands a palace with privileged views of the Catalan capital and the Mediterranean. What was once an exclusive restaurant during the exposition is now home to the luxury hotel Miramar Barcelona, where history and sophistication come together.
This historic building hosted elegant banquets and dances until 1959, when it became part of TVE’s studios in Barcelona. The elegant structure served as a television set for many years, but in 1983, it was abandoned. More than 20 years had to pass before it was transformed into the luxurious Miramar Barcelona hotel, which has offered its guests a unique stay since its opening. Today, this iconic establishment is undergoing a complete transformation aimed at restoring its original splendor and turning it into an urban resort with the grandeur of its origins as a palace.
The new Miramar Barcelona will be much more than a hotel: a retreat where guests can breathe in the fresh mountain air, surrounded by elegance and an extensive range of luxury services. Personalized attention is one of its strong points, along with its amenities, including a heated pool, hammam, sauna, and exclusive treatments, as well as an exclusive hair spa with renowned stylists and a 24-hour fitness & Technogym space equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.
Every detail has been carefully considered to offer a memorable experience. The luxury rooms will feature exclusive furniture designed by renowned Spanish architect and designer Patricia Urquiola. High-end Natura Bissé products will be available for guests, and to complete the experience, the finest Egyptian cotton will ensure dreamy nights of rest.
The hotel’s restaurant, Studio, will be the perfect place to enjoy a contemporary and refined dining experience, while private events and celebrations will be overseen by the renowned Michelin-starred chef Nando Jubany. Known for his creativity and excellence, Jubany will add a special touch for the most discerning palates.
Among its historic gardens, which invite guests to lose themselves in nature, a new pool club will emerge, offering botanical cocktails and farm-to-table cuisine. For those who wish to end their day in style and discretion, the hotel’s speakeasy will provide an exclusive setting with signature cocktails and a curated musical ambiance. Staying true to the artistic spirit of the city, the hotel will also feature contemporary art exhibitions, pop-up galleries, and spaces dedicated to creativity.
Hotel Miramar Barcelona presents itself as a captivating oasis, offering all the comforts and luxury of an authentic palace. An urban resort where history, design, and nature come together in a privileged setting, designed for travelers in search of the extraordinary.
