3 days in Barcelona

Barcelona is a city with plenty to see and do, but not everybody has the time to spend a week in the Catalan capital, doing tourism and visiting every corner. If you are one of those who lack time and you still want to visit Barcelona, don't worry. We are going to give you some tips so you can get to see the most important and emblematic monuments, but also enjoy the city and relax.

We will make a plan for you to make the most the city with 3 days in Barcelona.

Day 1

When people think about Barcelona, one of the first things that comes to mind is Antoni Gaudí. Hist architectural works can be found in different parts of the city, but we recommend you start in the center, near Plaza Cataluña. You can start your day walking down Passeig de Gràcia. It is one of the most emblematic streets in Barcelona, and it also happens to be one of the best areas when it comes to shopping. From luxury clothing and jewellery, to sports clothing and home wear. You can find almost anything in Passeig the Gràcia. And we mean it. There, you will also find two of the most important works of the architect Gaudí: La Pedrera (also known as Casa Milà) and Casa Batlló. Both buildings are impressive and worth a visit. From the outside they are different and beautiful, but they also hide a stunning inside that we encourage you to see. And of course, you can't forget to visit another great work of Antoni Gaudí, perhaps the most iconic building in Barcelona: the Sagrada Família. We recommend you to buy your tickets in advance, since the queue can be really long. Inside, you will see light and colours in a way you have never seen them before in a modernist cathedral. Without a doubt, an obligatory stop when visiting the city.  To put an end to such a productive day, you can have a walk around Bogatell Beach (Platja de Bogatell) and have drink in a seaside bar before heading back to the hotel.

Day 2

For your second day in Barcelona we recommend an early start. If you do so, you will be able to get to Park Güell before it gets too busy. It is a park that has both green spaces and art nouveau monuments, and also beautiful views due to its location on the top of a hill. Park Güell was the result of the collaboration between the entrepreneur Eusebi Güell and Gaudí and it was built between 1900 and 1914. Once again, and especially with the pandemic, we suggest you check the rules and buy tickets online to avoid queues. You will probably spend half a morning discovering the park, but afterwards you can go back to the city centre. Have a walk down the Ramblas, the most popular street of the city, always full of life. Stop at the Boqueria Market and buy something to eat. It is the most popular market in Barcelona , because not only is located in the heart of the city, but it also has a beautiful entrance and offers a great variety of fresh products. You will be able to discover typical foods and maybe even taste something new. From here you can get lost in the narrow streets full of history of the Gothic Quarter and Ciutat Vella. You will stumble upon Barcelona's Cathedral and many hidden places, like Plaça de Sant Felip Neri, and also discover very special local shops.  To finish this day of tourism we suggest you take a walk around Parc de la Ciutadella (Ciutadella Park), very close to the Arc de Triomf. This public park is always full of life and you can also sit for a while and relax or even get on one of the boats in the pond. Another option is to go up to Miramar Hotel to enjoy one of the best views of Barcelona and see the sunset from a privileged spot. How? Simply take the cable car from the beach. The restaurant Studio Miramar is a great option to enjoy the perfect dinner after a beautiful sunset.

Day 3

After a second day filled with activities, your third day in Barcelona can be much more chilled. We recommend you to take the chance to discover and enjoy the Montjuïc area, a mountain full of amazing parks with panoramic views of the city, near Plaza España. If on the other hand you are looking for a day full of fun and adrenaline, visit the Tibidabo amusement park, a picturesque and very classic place in Barcelona. Want to see some art? Barcelona offers many museums, such as the MNAC (Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya), Fundació Joan Miró, the Picasso Musum or the CosmoCaixa (a science museum). You can visit the beautiful Barcelona Pavilion designed by Mies Van der Rohe or the Olympic Stadium area, used for the 1992 Olympic Games.

If this sounds like a good plan for your holidays in Barcelona, we recommend you to book your accommodation with Hotel Miramar Barcelona to make the most of your trip. You will enjoy a 5-star stay in the city (including spa, great service and beautiful views). We are waiting for you!
